State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping (Chinese: 国家测绘地理信息局) is the national Chinese institute of geodesy and cartography. It is in Beijing, China. Established in 1959, it played a crucial role in regulating and overseeing geographic data and mapping activities within the country. The bureau was affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping (CASM) and was instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of maps used in China.[1]
